Isolation Gratification: Day 39

I'm thankful the D.I. is closed . It forced a couple of good neighbors to send out an "anybody want these things group text." Around Christmas time Spencer saw an American Girl bowling alley for a mere $400 in a magazine and has been asking for one for his doll Mencie since. I jumped at the chance for this monster bowling alley and after I showed him how to play with it he said "my dolly always wanted a monster bowling alley." 🙌

He's also been reassembling these fun toys all afternoon and would come up to me to introduce me to his newest friend such as Mr. Mustee.

I've been passively searching for an Easter wreath for a couple of years. Removed the ugly bow and my search is over!!

E: (making muffins for her farewell with her friend Alix. She started scooping sour cream into a measuring cup). I hate sour cream scooping sour cream so bad. What is he doing? M: Leading the music. Spencer's just being Spencer (afterwards the couple in charge of the sacrament music came up and said Spencer is so adorable leading the music. OK but I just wish one was ours(Aug 2021) S: (after the tooth fairy came and doubled his reward for letting Bart pull out both lower teeth). Man if the next time the tooth fairy comes and I only get coins I'm for sure not letting dad pull anymore teeth. Well I'm going to start praying for wind because the more I pray for rain all I get it wind. Maybe if I pray for wind the rain will come. S: Well I really wanted to give you the pink flowers but dad said they are poisonous.

M: (Aaron wears the same couple of hoodies every day to school. Often Emily points it out to Aaron warning him not to be the kid who is always wearing the same hoodie. As Aaron came out for church one day wearing the same white shirt he's worn for the past 3 months I comment). Aaron why don't you wear another one of your church shirts. You have more in your closet?

E: Yeah Aaron do you want to be that kid always wearing the same thing?

A: I already am THAT kid(February 2021)

S: (trying to solve that there is only 3 airheads and 4 kids problem). I have an idea. Aaron you can give Emily a little bit of your arrow head and Jane you can give Emily a little bit of your arrow head. That's a good solution.

E: (Our Elf was discovered on the floor with Aaron as the culprit being the one who drug her around and left her in the middle of the floor. Emily was very distraught upon finding this Elf knowing that because she was touched she probably wouldn't be able to make it back to the North Pole). I just don't know what we are going to do about the Elf. It's not going to be able to go back to the North Pole again because it's in the middle of the floor and it will keep getting touched. (thinking) What can we do? I hate this but I think the only thing that can be done is to get rid of Aaron so the Elf won't be touched and can move again(Dec 2013)

J: (Emily found an old small stocking with her name on it so she put it next to her other one on the mantel. Jane noticed it a day or so later and said) Mom we have 2 Emily stockings and we need to take this one off. M: Your right I guess I should have said hi. (I've been trying to get her to be more friendly to people at church and didn't want to sound like a hypocrite.)

E: I guess you must be shy

M: Sometimes I am

E: But where will I sleep (referring to Grandpa Dick's tease that he was going to sleep in her bed).

D: Emily you can sleep in our room on the floor or in our bed with us.

E: Mom get that toot toot away from Jane. (referring to a plastic Hawaiian lay that Emily likes to put around her waist and pretend it is a tutu.)

M: Emily, Jane likes to play with it.

E: But mom I need my toot toot.

M: Why do you need it Emily
