Aaron came up to me distraught! He handed me his sisters pink barbie VW beetle and said "stuck". He does this when something is jammed or when he gets into a predicament and can't get down. I check out the barbie car and all the doors are working and there wasn't anything jammed in it. He continues to say stuck as my bewilderment increases. Finally he yanks it out of my hand put its on the ground and sticks his foot in the door. Looks up like hello help me get the rest of my body in this car.
I often see a "little man" get out of a jacked up big truck and I think he probably has little man syndrome. Aaron on the other hand may have "big boy" syndrome.

The Supers
Here's a cute picture of some Super hero Batman's at Dayson's party
I do believe Aaron thinks he has super hero strength. Just look at him try and slug that pinata
He also thinks super hero's don't need swimming suits. As everyone was getting ready to get in the kiddie pool, I looked at Bart and said "who's on Aaron duty". Emily shreaks "Aaron" we turn around and he's already jumped in the pool fully clothed. Bart replies "Too late"

Don't forget to Count those blessings
It's time for bed and my kids are getting one last drink of milk before it's teeth and stories. Cortney busts through the door to the basement saying "There's a big flood" We rush down the stairs to see a window well full of water gushing into the bedroom. It's all hands on board as Bart rushes outside with a bucket and scoops water out of the window well as my girls and I get towels and get some water up from the carpet.
The next few hours are spent pulling up the carpet. Ripping out the pad. Shop vacuuming the cement and carpet, tracking down box fans, and setting them up. Jane was also feeling really bad that she was the one who turned on the hose to "water her dying flower" but couldn't turn it off and left it which in turned ran into the window well.
As I tucked the girls in bed, Emily broke down in tears saying "You can have my $77 dollars I have in the bank to fix the problem. Jane said she'd give me all her piggy bank money too. When it was time for the nightly song, My girls picked the song "Count your many Blessings" (the primary song of the month). At the end of the song I told them that this is a good night to remember our blessings. Emily said "Yeah can we count them right now. I said "you'll have to do it yourself, I've got to get back to helping your dad." I then threatened them that no matter what sounds you hear from downstairs you have to stay in your bed!!!
As we were waiting for a nice man in the ward to bring over the fans I told Bart. "I guess things like this happen because we signed up to have kids." He looked at me and raised his eyebrow like "I never signed up for this".
Later I found this sweet note folding up like a paper airplane on my family room floor. I'm sure Emily sent it sailing when she knew the coast was clear.
Thanks to Emily the rotten day ended with a smile!!! Man I love that girl!!!

Rescue 911
As my kids and I drive up to our house, I see this big firetruck parked in front of it.
Instantly I think Oh no! Who are they helping. As I get closer I see a couple of fireman on their bellies reaching down the storm drain, with a few of my neighbors huddling around. My heart drops. They must be saving one of the neighborhood kids that crawled down the storm drain. I approach the scene and to my relief my neighbor tells me that they are rescuing the neighborhood ducklings.
A little history about the ducks. In my neighborhood each spring a mama and papa duck comes back to our neighborhood and have a paddling of ducklings. They are like the neighborhood pets. All the kids love following them around the yards. They especially like our pond in our front yard. My kids are fascinated with the ducklings.
I chuckled as I left the scene thinking "It's great to live in a place where the only thing fireman have to do are save ducks from storm drains." Maybe that is why last year Draper was in the top 25 best small cities to live in according to Money magazine. (something I found out on a Emily's class "walk around Draper field trip")
Later that day my kids go out to jump on the trampoline. They immediately come back in a panic because all the ducklings have fallen under the tramp and the mama duck is quacking but they can't get out. Bart comes to the rescue and with the help from downstairs Jeff, they reunite the squirmy ducklings with their mama.

Living the life (Spring Break 2014)
When I think about my childhood I remember making huts in the trees/rocks, bike rides, picnics, and playing with lots of kitties and dogs. How happy I was to hear that is just what my girls did during their week with Grandma Becky and Grandpa Dick!!!

Cali with just 2
My sister just moved into this beautiful house near San Diego and
needed a "nanny" for a week until her "Nanny" comes out for the summer.
My mom was busy tending "cowboys" and couldn't leave the homestead. I
was on spring break so my mom nicely took my two girls for the week while I
hopped on an airplane bound for California with Aaron on my lap.
William and Aaron had so much fun together. They loved the bubbles. William would chase every single last bubble all over the yard while Aaron really just wanted to figure out how it worked. I also discovered that 2 buckets and 2 shovels last a long time in the sand pit.
Aaron's favorite by far was the trip to the beach to play in the biggest sand box Aaron's ever seen!
