Labor Day on Thousand Lake is always a grand time. With my kids getting older I'm finally feeling hands free. I noticed Spencer covered in dirt and realized dirty kids are happy kids.
Lots of rides on the Cam An and 4 wheelers is always a treat.
We took a ride to Baker's Ranch where my dad spent time each summer with his Aunt Bernice. Now it's a barren dessert land with a few corrals and old cabins but back in the day when water was more plentiful it was surrounding with green corn and alfalfa fields. My dad has lots of stories about his Baker Ranch days and this weekend mentioned how he and his other boy cousins had to sleep in the corn field to keep out the animals. He laughed and said "I don't know if it worked we never woke up if they came in"
We stopped by Morrell Lake and ate lunch and fished for a while..
Spencer and Bergun worked on their huts and Spencer made a cops and robbers hide out.
Aaron got Bart whittling as well as enjoyed some extra space for beabie gun shooting practice.
Aaron started widdling the aspens made himself a homemade rubber band gun. Even Bart got into it and carved on a few sticks.
Aaron helped Luke drag some logs down the mountain for fire wood and everyone pitched in to help Chap and Branson cut down a big tree for more firewood.
Time just hanging out eating and talking our the camp fire.
