Our Boy

Happy Birthday to our very special boy!  Aaron Judd Richards turns 1 today!!!   There is no doubt that Aaron was meant to be in our family.  He continues to bring so much joy to our house.  Even though he is so small the love he shares with each of us strengthens our family.

A little about Aaron at age 1.

  • Aaron's been blessed with an incredible good nature.  He's happy to go about his business entertaining himself yet also happy to go and do whatever else we are doing without a word of complaint
  • His older sisters adore him and he can't get enough of their "attention."  One of his favorite games is hide and go seek with Jane. He also likes to jump on whoever is on the floor and growl at them. I know my girls did not growl.  That must be a boy thing
  • Aaron has this quiet mischievous side.  He thinks he is so funny when he gets away with things.  Sometimes he will steal one of the girls blankets, wrap himself up with and and giggle as he waits to be found.   When the girls are in bed upstairs he will quietly start climbing a couple of stairs, stop look over at Bart and I and give us this little smirk like he knows he isn't suppose to be going upstairs.  Like clockwork one of us will jump up to stop him before he goes and wakes up all the girls.  As soon as he sees us jump up he squeals and races up the stairs at full speed, giggling the whole way, loving to be chased. Aaron will also walk by other kids and casually take a sucker or a toy from them and then once he has it secure in his fist he'll run to get as far away from the victim as possible.
  •  Whenever one of us is gone to either work or school, upon return Aaron shrieks with joy and toddles as fast as his little feet will take him over and gives the best welcome home loves.
  • He's a great communicator.  His favorite word right now is Dow (Down) He will say it when he is done being in the high chair, car seat or anything else that straps him in.  Sometimes when I lose him in my house I'll call out Aaron and he'll respond with a simple aahh to let me know where he is.   He also likes to wave hello and goodbye but you'd never know it's a little delayed and he'll wait until the person is gone.
  • Aaron is an eater.  He hasn't meant much of anything that he won't gobble down.  One morning while I was canning peaches he was sitting in his highchair as I gave him small pieces of fresh pieces.  I think he ate almost 4 full peaches as he continued to grunt for more.
Here is a few pictures my sister Allyson took last weekend.
