A traditional 4th

As always we ended south to spend the 4th of July with my family.  This year we were lucky to have Allyson and her baby William join us.  She's been missing in action for a few years due to her crazy residency schedule but she just finished and is a free woman for a while before she starts practicing.

William was an instant favorite.  We all just fell in love with him or rather he stole our hearts with his charismatic smile.  My girls just loved to make him giggle.   It's like he would sit there as if he were the king just waiting for the next court jesters to come by and entertain him.  I told Allyson he's
 really good at bringing out the obnoxious sides of my girls.

We started our adventure at Sarah's house where Emily and Bentley led the parade on their  bikes with Baxter on his new horse.   After games at the park, we had a BBQ while watching the girls play on a slip and slide.   Sarah's outside faucet has both hot and cold knobs.   Emily now thinks all hoses should have warm water and has put it on her list of desires for a new house. 

That Saturday Torrey Celebrated Independence day.    The day before Emily crashed on her bike so she was more than happy to sit on the side lines and gather candy.  After the parade Emily and Bentley discovered the rope swing over the canal.   Brave girls they are!

My parents parked their camp trailer next too their house for an extra bedroom.  It became a great babysitter as the girls played pretend in it for hours.  They also discovered the old fisher price yellow and green plastic picnic baskets and had many picnics in the front yard
