Dolphin Encounter

A must do in Puerta Vuerta is to "swim with the dolphins".    The Dolphins live inside a ghetto water park.    Reminded me a little of the old Raging Waters once Seven Peaks took it over.  Despite it being a little run down it delivered on fun extra things to do.   Such as a zip line from slide to slide and a fun climbing structure.
The kids and Bart tried a few slides while we were waiting for our time to swim with the dolphins.  They were daring to go on a slide that twirled you around and dropped you out at the bottom.   We called it the toilet bowl.   Everyone who went in it came out with rips in their swimming suits and or scraps on their back.   It was one of the "we aren't in the USA anymore"
I hate cold water so I was a great spectator for most of the day.  My girls did convince me to race them once down a "safe" slide and that was enough for me.

The dolphins encounter was incredible.  They had us all line up against the wall and had us pet the dolphins as they swam in front of us.  Next they had each of us step forward and the dolphin would come up and first dance with you, then it would reach up to your hand and lastly it would give you a kiss.

Spencer was the most entertaining one to watch.  He did not want to touch the Dolphin,  When it came up to dance with him he just stoop like a statue.   He barely held his hand up and flitched when he came up for a kiss.  The trainer then signaled to the dolphin and as he backed away he gave Spencer a big splash and the trainer said "That's what you get for not giving him a kiss"
