Sundance=The love hate relationship

Basically Bart loves Sundance and I hate it. Bart loves that so many celebrities are in our back yard. A few friends from his LA days are around and he is back in business for a few days. It's pretty amazing how hard Bart works on such little sleep during Sundance. I do respect him for that.

I hate Sundance because #1 it falls on my birthday. My birthday is the one day I can't help my middle child syndrome from coming out and it doesn't help that my husband is nowhere to be found. Which brings me to the other reason I hate Sundance. I call it my week of widowhood. Last year was especially rough with a newborn and this year has been better but it's been snowing for the past few days, today I'm stuck at home due to childhood illness and cabin fever is setting in fast. I can't wait until it's over!

Thanks blog for allowing me to vent a little. Maybe I'll sneak some pictures from Bart's camera of his happenings and post them later.

Have a great birthday tomorrow! I hope Sundance is over soon, for your sake, and that the girls get to feeling better soon! Can't wait to see you at book club next month..I missed everyone last week.

Good Idea Sarah--Not. That's the last thing I'd want to do it go to Sundance and freeze to death waiting in a huge crowd for some celebrity that I don't even care about. I'd much rather just hang out on the couch with Emily and watch the biggest loser and eat some cake.

What is he doing? M: Leading the music. Spencer's just being Spencer (afterwards the couple in charge of the sacrament music came up and said Spencer is so adorable leading the music. Who taught him how because he was right on beat) (Nov 2021) S: (singing I am a Child of God and got to the part that says 'and so my needs are great). (Sept 2021) A: (feeling sad and anxious in sacrament meeting about his pending talk in primary). Mom could you have another baby so I can cuddle it. M: Sorry I'm too old to have more babies. A: Well then can't you adopt one? M: No our family is complete but you can always cuddle all the new cousins. A: (big sigh). OK but I just wish one was ours(Aug 2021) S: (after the tooth fairy came and doubled his reward for letting Bart pull out both lower teeth). Man if the next time the tooth fairy comes and I only get coins I'm for sure not letting dad pull anymore teeth. Just not worth it for that (Aug 2021) G Dick: (after hearing G Becky read a facebook post from the farm Bureau about fasting/prayer for the drought). Well I'm going to start praying for wind because the more I pray for rain all I get it wind. Maybe if I pray for wind the rain will come. M: I love them they are the best

S: Well I really wanted to give you the pink flowers but dad said they are poisonous.

M: (in my head. Ha ha I bet Bart's poisonous means too expensive). (May 2021)

M: (Aaron wears the same couple of hoodies every day to school. Often Emily points it out to Aaron warning him not to be the kid who is always wearing the same hoodie. As Aaron came out for church one day wearing the same white shirt he's worn for the past 3 months I comment). Aaron why don't you wear another one of your church shirts. You have more in your closet?

E: Yeah Aaron do you want to be that kid always wearing the same thing?

A: I already am THAT kid(February 2021)

S: (trying to solve that there is only 3 airheads and 4 kids problem). I have an idea. Aaron you can give Emily a little bit of your arrow head and Jane you can give Emily a little bit of your arrow head. That's a good solution.

M: What about you can you share some of your airhead?

S: But I want all of mine (January 2021)

S: (Bart and I arrived home from a date). Mom your home. How was your wedding?

M: It was a date not a wedding Spencer

S: (after hearing that Bart and I are going on a date). But mom if you and dad are on a date there won't be any parents around for me to talk to all day (January 2021)

S: (wrapped up a gift me for all by himself, wrote M O M on it and handed it to me Christmas morning.)

M: Spencer how nice of you. Did you wrap this yourself

S: Beamed with pride.

M: (opened it and saw an empty roll of tape).

M: (coughing after choking on some water in the car)

J: Oh mom you've got to stop coughing or people will think you have covid.

M: It's not like you can just make yourself not cough.

J: I can. I guess you are just not at the level yet mom.

E: It's true mom. You should see how everyone looks at someone when they start coughing in class (Dec 2020)

J: (coming down the stair the night after Zoey arrived and she saw that Zoey hadn't moved. She walked by me shaking her head). Mom what will the kids think?

S: (looking at his plate of unappetizing dinner). Mom you know how after I poop some of it is in my underwear and then my bum starts to itch.

M: Yeah

S: Well eating makes you poop so I'm not going to each anymore and then I won't poop and have an itchy bum.

E: (Our Elf was discovered on the floor with Aaron as the culprit being the one who drug her around and left her in the middle of the floor. Emily was very distraught upon finding this Elf knowing that because she was touched she probably wouldn't be able to make it back to the North Pole). I just don't know what we are going to do about the Elf. It's not going to be able to go back to the North Pole again because it's in the middle of the floor and it will keep getting touched. (thinking) What can we do? I hate this but I think the only thing that can be done is to get rid of Aaron so the Elf won't be touched and can move again(Dec 2013)

J: (Emily found an old small stocking with her name on it so she put it next to her other one on the mantel. Jane noticed it a day or so later and said) Mom we have 2 Emily stockings and we need to take this one off.
