Jane just finished reading her first chapter book! I tell you she is so motivated to succeed! It's fun to watch

Bring along a friend..
For the past several years we've gotten the Seven Peaks "Pass of all Passes" and love it! It's worth every cent of the $19 for each annual pass. I got excited when an email came across saying they reached some instagram followers goal and each pass holder can bring a friend along for free. I called up Brooke and Sarah to see if they wanted to bring there girls up to Seven Peaks for a day and soon it became a party. Along with Brooke, Bryler, Sarah, Bentley and Bergun came Luke and Branson. It was such a fun day. So many friends to ride the water slides with. I wish I would have taken more pictures but water parks and cell phones don't go well together. I did capture Luke and Sarah on a slide as well as Brooke. All the kids were going at full speed and no time to pause and take a picture.
My girls had such fun with the cousins that I called up my sister Raquel and met her at the Salt Lake Seven Peaks (old Raging Waters) on the last day of the promotion. Once again a fun filled day with cousins.

It too tary....
Last year Aaron had no problems with water slides. This year he tells me "It too tary" whenever I suggest going on one where the water at the bottom is deeper than an inch deep. He absolutely refuses even if he has a lap to ride on. Bart finally convinced him to go down one with him
Such a huge 'tary' slide right?
Bart: "Ready?" Aaron: Wait need to plug nose Bart: OK Ready, set, go.....
Bart: "Whew we made it"

Pioneer Child of Mine
After a few rides at Lagoon Emily suggested that we go hang out at Pioneer Village. I told her there's nothing going on there. Emily said she doesn't care she just wanted to walk around and look through the shops so that's where we headed.
Emily walked us literally through every shop.
I was surprised when Emily found this "mini circus" building tucked away off the main path. Inside was the coolest collection of toys. We all wanted to take this old fashion toy stove home along with the American Girl sized one.
Every year Jon Huntsman sponsors a free day at "This is the Place Heritage Park". We've gone the past few years and love it every time. It's become one of my favorite things to do in the summer. Once again Emily was all about going into every building and learning all about it. I loved being able to share things like the story of Mary Fielding Smith or the purpose of the tithing storehouse. This year it seemed to have more kid interactive experiences. Such as getting a "shave" at the Barber shop.

She of course loved the music shop.

Aaron's first shave including a splash of fancy after shave.
Panning for gold with a real miner
"A Pirate Ship" at least according to Aaron
Lots of free ice cream. Bart would have been proud. My kids went to every stand to get another one!
A selfie on the little train ride. My kids really wanted me to go with them on the little train that Emily said would be perfect for her American Girl dolls.

Come Rain or Shine
Spring means soccer Jane's back on the soccer field.
The recreation department only cancels games with lightening not rain so many of her games this year were played in the rain.

K is for Kindergarten
Jane had the cutest kindergarten "graduation" program. They went through the alphabet each taking a letter. Jane's part "Q is for Quiet, sometimes we were, sometimes we were not." She lucked out having the sweetest teacher and kindness class. I'm so proud of Jane. She soared through kindergarten! I never once had to remind Jane to do her homework or read. She would come home off the bus and get straight to work. She really lucked out having the sweetest teacher and kindness class.
If I could pick the perfect kindergarten teacher it would be Mrs. Broderick. She was always so positive and kind which makes for a great start in school!

Doings
The last couple of months have been pretty busy!
My nephew Ty came off his mission! It was an amazing feeling to be at the airport to welcome him home with so much family.
Aaron and I tagged along with Jane's class field trip to the zoo
Aaron so happily rode the train with me one day for a goodbye lucncheon downtown for co worker who was changing jobs
Emily had her end of year Monster Concert. (All of the schools in the districts orchestras came together for a concert)
We spent days watching Jane practice her cart wheels while we waiting for the bus to pick Jane up for Kindergarten.
|
My girls and I headed down to Teasdale for Memorial Day weekend. We visited my grandparents graves.
It was rainy and cold much of our time in Teasdale so Aaron decided my hair needed to be Ironed.
