Here we go again!

55 minutes

What happens when 6 kids and 3 parents wait 55 minutes in line to ride the funny little train at the Bees Game.    Well when the train conductor says  "We can squeeze them all in the front car or you can wait  for the next turn"  you quickly say "lets squeeze them in"  and take this picture.

The funniest part of this picture is  the random girl in the middle with shades on.  She was just as smiley and happy as the rest of the them to finally be on the train and get her picture taken!


Thanks Papa for the Bees tickets.  The grandkids love spending time together even if the majority of it was waiting in line.

The first step is the hardest

For weeks Aaron has been standing by himself.  Lately he will go to take a step realize what he is doing and fall to the ground and speed crawl to get where he needs to go.  

But today August 10th he took his first steps!

Best Dad EVER!!!

I am not a mom that has a lot of compassion in the middle of the night.  Sure I'll get up and feed my babies and if needed tuck one of my kids back in bed after they've had an nightmare but I really struggle being nurturing at night with a sick or crying child.  That's where Bart is hands down the best Dad ever.  For instance Aaron woke up with a high fever and would not settle down even when I tried nursing.  After struggling with him for a while Bart so lovingly took over and walked the floor with him singing to him for a couple of hours until he finally settled down and went back to sleep.   The night before Jane woke up crying that her stomach hurt.  She had the flu days before in Teasdale so I didn't think she would get it again.  I told her to try and go back to sleep and maybe it would feel better in the morning.  Bart on the other hand said "Jane come here and I'll rub your belly"  She crawls in bed next to Bart and a moment after he started rubbing her stomach she threw up all over Bart.  I mean it was like buckets of nastiness.   What did Bart the best Dad ever do?  He calmly carried Jane into the bathroom and showered Jane then him and got her dressed and tucked her back into bed.

Love this man!!

P.S.

Whenever my kids get the stomach flu I become paranoid that I am going to come down with it too.  Well a few days after the Jane episode my stomach hurt a little and thinking I've got the bug tell I my kids I'm heading to bed and go lay down.  My girls come in all worried about me and I shooed them away.  As Jane was leaving the room she turned around and said.  "If you have to throw up don't do it on Daddy"

Jane and Emily were busily drawing one day when Jane came up to me and handed me this paper and going down the list said.

Drowned Rats

My kids and I hung around in Teasdale the week after the 4th of July.   It was a much needed time to kick back and enjoy the cool mountain air and wide open spaces.  I signed my girls up for swimming lessons while we were there and between an hour of lessons each day and a couple more afternoons of going back to the pool my girls looked like Drowned Rats.  Oh but they are still so cute even when they look that way.     Emily blew through level II and is so close to passing off level III.   The highlight for me was when she jumped off the high dive.  (I'll save it for another post about how many times as a kid I attempted but chickened out of jumping off of it myself).    Jane is coming right along using her "big arms" and has overcome her fear  of going down the slide without someone there to catch her.

Fun on the Fourth

For weeks Emily has been counting down the days until the parades start.   We met up with the family at my sisters house in Koosharem for one last 4th of July celebration.  (Sarah is in the process of selling her house and moving closer to her work in Richfield).  At the very last minute Allyson rounded up a wagon, 4th of July table cloth and a few willing kids to be in the parade.  The original plan was for Emily and Bentley to ride their bikes while Jane stayed back to be the candy collector.    I guess it seemed more fun to be pulled along so they hopped in the wagon with William.  The rest of the day was spent hanging out at Sarah's house, bike rides around a few blocks and scoring some "Trolls" at a garage sell. 

The rest of the weekend involved a day of helping Sarah pack up while Bart did a little painting on her house.  We then headed to Teasdale and enjoyed my moms new deck, a few commander rides, more bike rides for the kids and of course the Torrey apple days parade.  Aaron especially liked the apple pies being handed out.  My mom held her annual BBQ during which the kids enjoyed playing in the much needed rain.
