My very brave Emily made it through the surgery but is still upset that she had to get poked (i.e a shot). I keep reminding her the poke was necessary to help her go to sleep so they could fix the tooth. Unfortunately the tooth could not be saved but the pain is gone. When she was waking up from the sedation she kept sitting straight up with the glassy drunk look and grabbing her cheek commented "I don't feel any pain in my tooth" then she'd lay back down asleep again.
When we got home my mother in law, who was tending Jane, brought her back to our house. I had laid Emily in Jane's crib to prevent her from falling off of her bed in her drunken state. Jane walked over to the crib and put her little hand through the crib bars and reached for Emily's hand. Emily held Jane's hand for a minute and said "Hi Janie". Such a sweet moment.
