In search of water...

We are a water family.   Just give us a day at a lake, pool or even a back yard slip and slide and we are set.  OK and maybe some licorice then we are set.

Harriet and Wally's family was in town for a reunion so a party was in place at Papa and Nona's house.  The kids loved the slip and slide especially when Jeff pulled out the big black plastic.

Spencer is always ready in case he needs to kick some water or just shoot a hoop.

I signed the kids up for swimming lessons.  Loved that the treehouse was so relaxed about Spencer playing in the water while Jane and Aaron alternated there turns with there lessons.  I was worried Spencer did not like water but this one was nice and warm.  Turns out he's just like me when it comes to cold water.  We will pass.

I chose to get Seven Peaks passes instead of Cowabunga Bay passes this year.  Bad choice soon after we purchased them the Provo location went bankrupt and we were left with the old Raging Waters location.  We still had a little fun just lots of cold water.

Emily's friend Ava invited my girls to come enjoy the passholders bring a friend day.   They said it was packed but it didn't stop them from having a blast.

Jeff and Kim were so nice to come with us up American Fork Canyon and spend the day on Tibblefork "the busiest lake I've ever been too."    Water is still water and my kids loved getting the kayaks out there and especially enjoyed Jeff and Kims paddleboards and hanging with dare devil Carver.

In search of ball games.....

Jane had a couple of soccer tournaments this summer.  Nothing like running around for an hour in 100 degree weather.  She's a tough one and loves it though.  She loved playing with Spencer at the playground afterwards but especially loved cooling off with her Mango shake at McDonalds.

Papa scored us some great tickets to a Bees game.   Thanks to my ball loving 2 year old this was the  first time I've been able to sit and actually watch the game.

Aaron wanted to go run around the bases after the game so Bart took him down.  I think this kid has speed.  It was fun to see him pass everyone like no big deal.

Bart caught the some of the Atlanta Braves game on an autograph chase with his friend Gary.

We also went back for the "Sandlot reunion night" and scored the last of these cute bobble heads.

In search of thrills...

Lagoon was my sanity outlet this summer.   Spencer fell in love and often while eating breakfast will say "I go to Lagoon today"

We went with cousins a few times which is the best way to do Lagoon.  I'm sure my kids when they think of their childhood and Richard's cousin will have the fondest memories of time spent there.

We also went a couple more times as a family.

We throughly enjoyed Papa giving us this $.99 refill cups this year.

Emily has been planning a Lagoon Day with her best friend Ava all summer and Jane invited  Macy from the neighborhood a seasoned session holder  to come along.  Emily convinced me (she's really good at that skill) to stay all day long.  The reason?  So so she could watch the sun set on the ferris wheel.  Lagoon after dark has a different personality.  Emily thought it was hilarious that a guy manning the ride instead of saying the usually "and have fun here at Lagoon" said "and have an hour more fun here at Lagoon.  They also had a good attitude about getting stuck on the colossus for 45 minutes.  It did help that they gave them a free ice cream afterwards.    I hadn't done that since my childhood and trust me it was exhausting but I throughly enjoyed my time with these 4 girls.

In search of explosions....

On the 4th of July Sandy City puts on a fireworks show.  We set up on the hill south of Jordan High School and enjoyed ourself some fireworks and loud music.

Emily wanted to use Aaron as a pillow.  Soon after Aaron says to me "quick mom take a picture.  Emily and I are getting along"

We also enjoyed some fireworks after the Bee's games one night.  Nothing says summer like baseball games and fireworks.
